Movie News by Hof

May 27, 2011

Hello all, Mark here. Everyday I’m on the sites aintitcool.com, comingsoon.net, collider.com, imdb, rottentomatoes etc….I’m always picking up cool tid bits of movie news. Since I’m the biggest movie nerd I know I wanted to share some of this so I can have some people to talk to. Enjoy the news. Let me know what you think.

Shark Night 3D

I know this movie will be junk. Piranha 3D was no art and this seems like a knock off. However, the poster for this film is badass. The Shark looks amazing and that swimmer is about to be in a world of hurt. Whoever, created this needs more work.

Check out the trailer.

I found this at Collider.com.

I love Alexander Payne as a director. He is responsible for some of my favorite films (Election, Sideways, About Schmidt). He is back with The Descendants.

George Clooney is a great actor and I like what he is doing in this film. Also, Mathew Lillard is in this film? I always knew he was better than what he was doing. Another cool thing is seeing Robert Forster punch a young kid in the face.

Check out the trailer

In casting news the Total Recall remake is shaping up with an interesting cast. Colin Farrell, Bryan Cranston, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, Bill Nighy and John Cho have been cast. One really cool piece of news is that Ethan Hawke will have a five minute long monologue in the film! If you’ve watched Before Sunrise or Before Sunset you will know that he will pull this off. It will be interesting to see what director Len Wiseman (Underworld, Live Free or Die Hard) will do with this film. Len has never made a great film but they always come close to good. Either way this is a movie to keep your eye on.

Also, in the news today is that Zach Braff has signed onto the new Oz, the Great and the Powerful movie directed by Sam Raimi. The cast looks amazing. James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams. It is good to see Sam Raimi making another movie.

For fans of True Blood HBO has released three new posters for the show debuting on June 26th. I like the show but if I miss it I don’t lose sleep.
