So glad you had a chance to watch and do a show on The Witch! It really is a good movie — I totally agree with your commentary on the quality of the score, production values and acting. All the debate among genre fans about The Witch is a little silly, if you ask me.

I totally agree with your slight criticism of the end of the movie — it was a big leap for me too. The movie could have ended when she walked into the woods, and that would have been fine by me. One other small thing — I wasn’t a huge fan of the beautiful, busty witch in the woods who abducted the little boy (a very disturbing and effective scene, but I just thought she was too pretty and polished and didn’t fit the overall tone of the movie all that well).

Aside from those minor critiques, it really captured my interest and was rather frightening. I had to laugh about the discussion of “date night movies,” because I saw it with my husband on a date night. But we’re a couple of old, married horror fans, not cute 19 year olds. 🙂

Thrilled that you listened and shared. I must agree with the sultry young sexy witch scene…that didn’t really fit. Please keep the comments coming and, if ever you would like to contribute a “Listener Question” please let us know on Twitter or Facebook.

I’ll have to try to think of a good question for you! The Gamera discussion was really fun in that episode too.

So glad you enjoyed that. It was an unexpected (and favorite) misunderstanding that made for great discussion. LOL.

Just remember that we’ll probably go into no man’s land tangents, interpret in ways you wouldn’t expect, and will provide a lot of clever yet incomprehensible banter in response. Please tune in for Episode 65, which will be entirely composed of Listener Questions much as was Episode 56.

I am with you guys on all the horror movie stuff, and a lot of the other movie stuff too. You only lose me when you mention sports. LOL, I’m a total girl when it comes to sports. Have you watched Turbo Kid? I’d love to hear your thoughts on that – such a fun movie. Hey, that could be my listener question!

Here’s my review on Turbo Kid. But we can’t discuss anything at length only one of us has seen. It’s not as fun for us or the viewers. But that zany flick is worthy of LOADS of discussion.

I’ll check out the review and try to come up with a question for all 3 of you!
