The MFF podcast is back, and this week we’re talking about a post-apocalyptic dragon movie that we love. Reign of Fire is the most grounded dragon movie ever made (we think), and stars A-listers Christian Bale, Matthew McConaughey and Gerard Butler. What we love about this movie is how it features a tattooed Matthew McConaughey driving around England in an attempt to kill dragons, while Christian Bale takes everything seriously (which we love). The movie looks brilliant, has solid CGI and features the longest jump in the history of cinema. If you are a fan of the movie you need to listen to this podcast.

If you are a fan of the podcast make sure to send in some random listener questions so we can do our best to not answer them correctly. We thank you for listening and hope you enjoy the pod!

Mark’s comment is on point and matches my opinions of movie dragons… that the Reign of Fire dragons blend in with the background (and thus, perhaps have the best in-context CGI) better than the dragons of any other film! I love this movie!

Do you think Bale/Butler ever acted out other Star Wars movies for the kids? How do you think they went about a low budget rendition the Pod Races? hahaha

I want this prequel. The two of them reanacting Star Wars movies!

It could be an anthology film comprised entirely of them acting out movies for the kids. Imagine Butler’s accent in these roles…

Gremlins (Butler is Gizmo), The Thing (Butler is MacCready), Big Trouble in Little Chine (who’s playing the cackling Lo Pan crossing his pinky fingers for magic?), The Little Mermaid (Butler’s accent would make for great musical numbers as Sebastion the crab), SW The Phantom Menace (Butler keeps interrupting his own JarJar lines complaining about the character), Tango and Cash, Predator (Butler — “Khhhhaaaaa, I’m da bloooody predator!”), Alien (Butler is Ripley, or the xenomorph narrating its thoughts).

We need to discuss this on the pod. This is gold!

Complete with our most over-the-top Butler accents!
