The Trip
The title of this movie have me thinking of lots of corny jokes right now…but I’ll spare you a trip down that path….oh man, I had to throw in just one 😉
Seriously though, you have to watch this movie or your 2011 will not be complete. I’m not kidding, this is my serious face people.
I’m not spoiling anything by telling you that this movie is about Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon playing fictional versions of their true personas as they set off on a tour of restaurants in northern England. This movie is an extension of the successful television series that Coogan and Brydon did in the UK.
If you are looking for a nice movie about English restaurants and the countryside, look elsewhere. This is a film about these two characters and how their personalities interact. I can’t even remember what they ate, but I do remember all of their silly celebrity impressions, constant one-up-man-ship, and masterful ramblings about common sayings. My suggestion, because I know you are dying to know… Find this movie and watch it tonight (Netflix instant), this would be the perfect way to end 2011.
Mark and I started to watch this movie one night and he fell asleep (don’t blame the movie, he had just worked a 14+ hour day), but I was so glued to the funny dialogue and crazy personalities that I couldn’t stop watching. Later that week, I gladly watched The Trip again and it was every bit as delightful as when I first saw it.
