The Trip

December 30, 2011

The title of this movie have me thinking of lots of corny jokes right now…but I’ll spare you a trip down that path….oh man, I had to throw in just one ūüėČ

Seriously though, you have to watch this movie or your 2011 will not be complete. ¬†I’m not kidding, this is my serious face people.

I’m not spoiling anything by telling you that this movie is about Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon playing fictional versions of their¬†true¬†personas as they set off on a tour of restaurants in¬†northern¬†England. ¬†This movie is an extension of¬†the¬†successful television series that Coogan and Brydon did in the UK.

If you are looking for a nice movie about English¬†restaurants¬†and the countryside, look¬†elsewhere. This is a film about these two characters and how their personalities interact. ¬†I can’t even remember what they ate, but I do remember all of their silly celebrity impressions, constant one-up-man-ship, and masterful ramblings about common sayings. ¬†My suggestion, because I know you are dying to know… Find this movie and watch it tonight (Netflix instant), this would be the perfect way to end 2011.

Mark and I started to watch this movie one night and he fell asleep (don’t blame the movie, he had just worked a 14+ hour day), but I was so glued to the funny dialogue and crazy personalities that I couldn’t stop watching. ¬†Later that week, I gladly watched The Trip again and it was every bit as delightful as when I first saw it.
